All of the preconference workshops will take place on the campus of Seoul National University (SNU). Language Education Institute (LEI) at SNU is participating as a co-host of the LTRC 2013 conference and as the main host for the preconference workshops.
Established in 1963 as a supporting organization of Seoul National University, the LEI has been at the forefront of the globalizing efforts of Seoul National University (SNU). The LEI consists of the Korean Language Education Center, the Language Education Research Center, the Foreign Language Education Center, and the Language Proficiency Testing Center. As its main testing activity, the LEI has been developing and administering TEPS (the Test of English Proficiency created by Seoul National University) to evaluate the English skills of hundreds of thousands of Koreans nationwide every year since 1999. The LEI's main international outreach is through the Korean Language Education Center, which offers courses on Korean language and culture to foreigners and ethnic Koreans raised abroad.
The Hoam Faculty House, an on-campus hotel run by SNU, serves as the main hotel for the preconference workshops.
*Please note that the venue of pre-conference workshop (Language Education Institute, SNU) is very far from the venue of main conference (Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry: KCCI) and Namdaemun (or Sungryemun / South Gate). Thus, workshop attendees are highly recommended to stay at the Hoam Faculty House during the workshop period.
